Twin Homes in Daybreak: Are They Right for You? (Plus a West-Side Gem Under $550K)
What is a twin home in Daybreak, South Jordan? A Daybreak twin home is two homes joined by one shared wall. Each owner gets their own home, entrance and garage, often with exterior yard care handled by the HOA.
My wife Chelsey and I bought a twin home as our very first home. We loved it. So when I walked a brand-new twin home on the west side of Daybreak during one of our Zander Team open house Saturdays, I had to share it.
This post covers two things. First, what you should actually know about buying a twin home in Daybreak, South Jordan, including the stuff most people get wrong. Second, a look inside a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath twin home with nearly 3,000 square feet, priced just under $550K.

Twin Home vs. Townhome vs. Single-Family: What's the Difference?
A lot of buyers hear "twin home" and picture a townhome. They're not the same thing, and the difference matters when you're deciding where to live.
Twin home comparison with single-family and townhome including: walls, neighbors, HOA, yard, and feel.
HOA coverage and dues vary by home and sub-association, so always check the specifics for the home you're looking at. You can read more about how Daybreak's association works on the Daybreak HOA page.
What It's Really Like to Live in a Twin Home
Here's my honest take from living in one.

It feels like your own home
With only one shared wall, a twin home feels a lot more like a single-family home than a townhome does. When Chelsey and I lived in ours, I never once heard our next-door neighbor. Many Daybreak twin homes also blend right in with the single-family homes around them, so from the street you'd hardly know.
Less yard work, more weekends
In many Daybreak twin home communities, the yard and exterior are maintained for you. If mowing and edging are not how you want to spend Saturday, that's a big win. And the HOA is typically less than you'd pay in a townhome community.
Great bang for your buck
You often get the space, natural light and layout of a single-family home at a lower price point. If I were moving again, I'd seriously consider another twin home.
3 Things to Check Before You Buy Any Daybreak Twin Home
Daybreak homes are beautiful. Function is where you need to pay attention.
Measure the garage. Not every garage in Daybreak is a true full two-car garage. I once had to withdraw an offer on a home because both of our cars wouldn't fit all the way in. Bring a tape measure, or ask your agent to.
Know what the HOA covers. Yard care, snow removal and exterior maintenance can differ from one twin home community to the next. Get the details in writing before you go under contract.
Look at what's being built nearby. Daybreak keeps growing. A dirt lot today could be new homes, a park or an amenity tomorrow. Ask what's planned around the home you're considering.
Check before buying: Garage, HOA, and upcoming development.
Inside a West Daybreak Twin Home Priced Just Under $550K
This home was built in 2025 and has everything I'd want in a twin home, plus a few things you rarely see.
At a glance:
4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms
Just under 3,000 square feet
Priced just under $550K
Built in 2025
Fully finished basement
Full two-car garage
Main-floor primary suite
Main floor
Right inside the entry there's a half bath, tucked out of the way for guests. Then comes something that's pretty rare in Daybreak: the primary suite is on the main floor. It's bright and well laid out, with a tiled bathroom, clean shelving and a good-size closet.
The kitchen and living area are on the main level too, with upgraded finishes and a pantry that's much bigger than you'd expect in a twin home. There's a wall-mounted TV spot, plus a second wall that works just as well, so you have options for laying out the living room.
A built-in drop zone with lockers by the garage entry keeps shoes and bags under control.
Fully finished basement
This basement is finished and ready to use. It has room for a guest space, home gym, playroom or storage, along with a full bathroom, a utility closet with extra storage and a guest bedroom. That bedroom's closet is actually bigger than the primary closet upstairs. It's a great setup for visitors.
Upstairs
Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms, another full bathroom and a large laundry room. The closets throughout are better than you'll find in most homes. One bedroom is set up as a home office right now, and it has great windows. With windows on every side, the light is excellent, and you'd never guess you were in a twin home.
Outside
The home sits back from the road with green space in front, so you get less traffic, less street parking and less noise. Most of the neighboring homes are only a year or two old.

Frequently Asked Questions
